Colors of the Year for 2025 are here! What could be more exciting in the world of design? SHERWIN WILLIAMS
To celebrate 15 years of choosing “Color of the Year” Sherwin Williams has selected a 2025 Color Capsule of the Year and it includes 9 complementary hues from its collection. Sue Wadden, director of color marketing at Sherwin Williams says, “Our Color Capsule of the Year can be curated to stand out with any style. We wanted a modern, fresh take on color, with a balanced and usable assortment of shades.” Get a look at all nine hues here and choose your favorite combination! Colors include: Grounded, Sunbleached, Chartreuse, Bosc Pear, White Snow, Rain Cloud, Clove, Malabar, Mauve Finery.
PANTONE
While Pantone does not make paint, it does provide color standards used by brands and manufacturers of paint. Those in the know at Pantone have selected Mocha Mousse 17-1230. This Color of the Year 2025 is a rich brown shade that is reminiscent of coffee and chocolate. This is the first time Pantone has highlight a brown shade for its annual award. The color is also connected to a “growing movement to align ourselves more closely with the natural world,” Pantone said in its release.
BENJAMIN MOORE
Benjamin Moore’s Color of the Year 2025 is Cinnamon Slate 2113-40 a delicate combination of heathered plum and velvety brown. It is truly a “whole house” color, so explore the possibilities from painting whole rooms, accent walls, a captivating backdrop for a gallery wall, or half-walls (above or below wainscoting or chair rails.
BEHR
Behr has gone from soft black to rich, earthy reds that will make a statement in home interiors this year. They have chosen Rumors MQ1-15, a deep, dynamic ruby red – a fresh take on a classic shade. Use it for smaller projects, like adding a pop of color on a front door or kitchen cabinets, or go bold and color drench (the latest paint trend according to designers) your living room or bedroom with luxurious color.
GLIDDEN
Glidden welcomes a beautiful jewel tone into its collection as they introduce you to Purple Basil PPG1046-7. This hue adds energy to any space. According to the brand, this high impact hue represents self-discovery and self-expression in your home. Glidden color experts encourage using this flexible color anywhere – paint your kitchen or the cabinets, or as an exterior accent to add curb appeal on your shutters, architectural trim or mailbox!
VALSPAR
Blue was the most popular color selection in 2024, and Valspar predicts blues are here to stay for 2025. They have chosen Encore 8002 – 45G, a deep blue hue as its Color of the Year 2025! Perfect for any space or application, Sue Kim, Valspar’s director of color marketing says, “This makes it an ideal color to ground a room, leaving space for spirited pops of complementary colors.”
