If you pick a day of the week and allow just 15-20 minutes on that day, this should go a long way to cut down on fingerprints, dust and grime. At the same time you will be preventing really greasy, hard to remove stains and greasy build up.
How to Clean Your Cabinets
Clean your painted kitchen cabinets about once a month or so you should take extra care to maintain and extend the life of your painted cabinets. Please be mindful of the damage that abrasive cleaners and excessive water can do to the finish. You can make your own cleaners or – depending on the amount of grease and grime, here are a few methods you can use to clean your cabinets.
- For light splatters and everyday fingerprints and dust, simply wipe cabinets inside and out with warm, soapy water, rinse and dry.
- For some grease and grime build up mix a solution of 2 cups water, 1 cup white vinegar or lemon juice and one tablespoon of baking soda. Gently wipe down cabinets, using extra elbow grease on specific spots and stains.
- For heavy grease and grime buildup, use the above mixture, but add 2 -3 teaspoons of dish detergent such as Dawn.
Paint-safe cleaners are also available, but always make sure you you do a spot test in an inconspicuous place before proceeding. Also, beware of using bleach or abrasive cleaners. You will permanently damage your finish.
